Zoomdata Launches Beta, Bringing Real-Time Data Visualization to the iPad
SANTA CLARA, CA and RESTON, VA, Feb 26, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
O'Reilly Strata Conference -- Big Data Visualization startup
Zoomdata today announced the beta release of the Zoomdata
application, with a tablet version immediately available for download
at the iPad App Store. Zoomdata makes it easy for data administrators
to quickly connect its stream-processing engine to a wide variety of
real-time data feeds and historical data sources. Once connected, a
real time data feed is instantly available, allowing users to
visualize and analyze trends within its most critical data, whether
it arises from social networks, IT operations, trading data,
transactional systems, or virtually any enterprise or cloud-based
application.
Any iPad user can now download Zoomdata from the App Store to explore
Zoomdata's unique tactile tablet visualizations of the real time
Twitter stream, as well as sample sales data that showcase the app's
ability to isolate and illuminate the most meaningful trends. To
integrate with an organization's actual enterprise data,
administrators and power users can download the Zoomdata Server from
Zoomdata's website, including various data source connectors and
install files for virtual and Linux servers. In addition to using
Zoomdata's standard set of visualizations, users have the option of
configuring their own D3.JS visuals.
"We're empowering every person in a role that cares about data with
the first visualization tool designed for the tablet that can keep up
with them," said Justin Langseth, Founder and CEO. "The
pinch/swipe/zoom capabilities make it intuitive and tactile -- even
fun to use. We have a hard time prying the tablet away from people
during demos. We're seeing major brands moving quickly to get their
hands on it."
One such company is SapientNitro, a global business, marketing, and
technology services company. Its analysts will be using Zoomdata to
track real-time activity in social networks around a major consumer
packaged goods brand. Zoomdata's visualizations help the analysts
prioritize conversation strands based upon the number of
participants. It also gives them an easy way to securely save, share,
and collaborate on visualizations.
"The world's most discussed brands swim in a torrent of social data.
Growing these brands and their fans increasingly depends on
separating the signal from the noise, sifting through the chatter and
zeroing in on patterns in conversation, identifying opportunity as it
emerges," said Nathaniel Perez, Global Head of Social Experience at
SapientNitro. "Zoomdata can now provide us with a powerful way to
visualize trends and key conversations in real time, prioritize
responses through data processing, and even uncover insights that
allow us to define new engagement segments."
The beta launch announcement kicks off a busy week for Zoomdata that
also includes an appearance at the O'Reilly Strata Conference, taking
place from February 26th through the 28th at the Santa Clara
Convention Center. In addition to exhibiting in Booth P17, Zoomdata
will take the stage in Ballroom AB at 10:40AM on Thursday, February
28th to discuss how Zoomdata performs stream processing and
visualization on mobile devices in real-time based on customer
interaction data.
Zoomdata's management team comprises executives with a clear track
record of success within and passion for the Big Data and startup
communities. It is led by founder and CEO Justin Langseth, who brings
over 20 years of big data experience gathered founding both
Clarabridge and Claraview, the latter of which was acquired by
Teradata, and Strategy.com -- a former subsidiary of MicroStrategy.
Zoomdata's Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Russ Cosentino has
more than 20 years of IT experience, much of it with startup
companies like Clarabridge and Brainbench. Zoomdata's Vice President
of Strategy and Business Development Chris McGill was CEO and founder
of Mixx.com, acquired in 2011 by UberMedia, and is the former General
Manager of Yahoo! News and Information.
"This level of data visualization in real-time is flat-out disruptive
to the market," added McGill. "We think companies shouldn't have to
wait for data to harden in databases to gain insight -- they need to
act before the chance for advantage passes. The speed of our success
is a clear signal that companies agree."
