Yahoo bans working from home - EuroSmartz comment
Feb 26, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Following the recent news that Yahoo's chief Marissa Mayer has banned employees from working remotely, Ian Schenkel, CEO and Co-founder of EuroSmartz, leading business apps provider, comments:
"The news of Yahoo's new policy barring employees from working remotely is surprising in a time when technology enables us to work collaboratively from anywhere. Mobile devices such as tablets and enterprise apps allow people to stay productive, regardless of time or location. Obviously, security is undoubtedly a key concern for enterprises looking to effectively implement remote working. One way to ensure enterprise security is through the use of enterprise mobile devices and enterprise apps, through which companies can control the manner in which employees access information on their mobile devices, maximising security. For example, enterprise apps can be tethered to a location/network for security and/or can exist solely in the cloud, not permitting download to a device so that documents cannot be accessed in the event of a device theft.
"For us at EuroSmartz, the concept of BYOD has been crucial to the implementation of our unique and extremely cost effective business model. All of our employees work remotely using an iPad. This allows them to be extremely flexible with their location and furthermore their working hours - allowing us to provide superior, real-time customer service to our users, 24/7. In addition to providing flexibility to our employees and outstanding customer service, BYOD allows us to keep our overheads as a company to a minimum.
EuroSmartz was the first company to bring the functionality of printing photos, contacts, web pages and more to the iPhone when it released Print in December 2008. Since that time EuroSmartz has become the number one provider of printing and business apps for the iPad, iPhone & Android devices.
EuroSmartz' app Print n Share was selected by Apple to be featured in the Office iPhone TV commercial which aired throughout 2009. In 2010 EuroSmartz' other leading app PrintCentral was featured as App of the Week" in the UK and European iTunes App Stores.
