Device ban seen as case of overkill
Feb 07, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --
New South Wales (NSW) Attorney-General Greg Smith has proposed new laws banning lawyers, journalists and any courtroom attendees from using telephones, tablet computers or laptops to send information about a case outside the courtroom. The Law Society of NSW is concerned that the laws will stop lawyers using phones or computers to liaise with colleagues and clients. Journalists are concerned that they will no longer be able to provide updates to newsdesks.
