LessonFace Launch Party to Showcase the Future of Online Music Lessons
BROOKLYN, NY, Feb 04, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
LessonFace today announced that the company will launch its online
video platform for face-to-face music lessons by showcasing live
demos during a party this Thursday, February 7 at the LessonFace
headquarters in downtown Brooklyn. After six months piloting its
technology for live online music lessons, LessonFace is ready to
bring music lessons to online students in an innovative way -- by
enabling live, face-to-face interaction with highly qualified music
teachers.
"We've concentrated on making the live audio and visual experience of
the lessons as great as can be -- because these elements are crucial
for experiencing and learning music," said LessonFace CEO Claire
Cunningham. "We're excited to showcase the experience in our
headquarters next week."
There will be demos throughout the evening with teachers, including:
master vocal trainer Lalana Martin from New York City's SoHo, who
will join the party via video conference from Los Angeles, where she
is traveling to attend the Grammys. Lead guitarist Dave Heumann will
school party attendees remotely from Baltimore, just before he leaves
on a tour of Europe to promote his band's (Arbouretum) newly released
album. Berklee grad Eric Kalver, who will teach drums, also will tune
in from sunny Los Angeles.
"Music is about connecting and being social and fun, so we felt a
party -- with food, drink, and of course actual instruments -- was
the best way to kick things off," said Brandon Simes, LessonFace
director of marketing.

How it Works
LessonFace puts music students and teachers together for live
lessons, which happen directly through a computer or a tablet.
Teachers set their own rates and availability. Students choose their
teacher and schedule. All that is required is a computer or tablet
(iPad, Android, etc.) with a webcam and an internet connection.
