GetVoIP.com Announces Best in VoIP Developments Announced at CES 2013

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) New York, NY (PRWEB) January 16, 2013 GetVoIP.com, a leading VoIP Services directory and trusted news source, has announced their top picks in VoIP from this year's International CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Following suit with past years, the most recent installment last week showcased some innovations that are set to revolutionize telecommunications and more. GetVoIP.com has narrowed the exhibits in VoIP down to 5 offerings which are still in early stages of development or poised to hit the market relatively soon. Click here for full article. GetVoIP's picks are highlighted below: 1. Connected Cars: Big manufacturing companies like Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Porsche, and Subaru are already on board, with Verizon also at the helm in the movement for connected cars. Creating the “ultimate mobile device”, these vehicles will leverage systems which sync with user’s smartphones and devices to integrate media and useful tools right on your dashboard. Although in early development and limited in availability, the number of connected cars is expected to quadruple from now to 2016. Concurrent with the rolling of 4G LTE capabilities, these cars will undoubtedly integrate “sync-enabled features” that power communications, via hands-free/Bluetooth devices.

2. Plantronic UC Headphones & Speakers: Plantronics have released the Voyager Legend UC and Calisto 620 headset and speaker, respectively. Both are great tools for making VoIP calls, with the Calisto 620 making it especially easy to orchestrate an impromptu conference call. Eliminating the need to lug heavy equipment around for quality calling, both offerings are the perfect complement to users who are constantly on-the-go, seeking to enjoy optimal conversation quality or even their favorite songs while on the road, at home, or anywhere in between.

3. Ooma Office: Ooma have offered Residential VoIP services since 2004, revealing their desire to break out into the small business sector at CES. This enterprising foray from the Palo Alto-based company is appropriately titled, Ooma Office. Featured with this new service, is an updated version of the Ooma telo, bringing capabilities like conference bridges, automated receptionists, on-hold music, and many more features that make small businesses look big. Ooma offers the service at a very affordable $19.99, with a base cost of $249.99 for the hardware.

4. Invoxia: Issy les Moulineaux, France’s Invoxia rolled out several nifty new products in the AudiOffice and NVX610. The former is an iPhone docking station complete with a wired handset and six speakers, while the latter is a complete IP telephony module that turns your smartphone into a desktop phone. The Invoxia desktop phone merges contacts into a single, unified contact list through the app which shares their namesake, turning your mobile phone into a business tool in mere seconds. Both units boast high definition sound quality (for music or VoIP calls), along with mounts for iOS powered tablets. Invoxia are currently working on an Android equivalent which will be released in time.

5. Cisco Videoscape Unity: Kicking off the event properly, Cisco put their Videoscape Unity Platform on display, introducing premium content and a whole lot more. Cisco gave everyone an in-dept look at the future of internet-connected TV, creating an integrated, social, shared TV experience for users. The impact on VoIP lies in the social aspect of this innovation, which intertwines virtual viewing parties, real-time IM, and video chats – all the elements of unified communications majestically incorporated in the ultimate experience. The offering is still in the works, though it promises to revolutionize the way media is consumed once released.

All of the developments discussed bring a ton of potential in terms of elevating VoIP communications to the next level. The amazing new products put on display promise to bring enhancements that will enrich a future which is best categorized as becoming increasingly mobile and interoperable.
