Wilocity Wins Global Semiconductor Alliance Private Company to Watch 2012 Award
SUNNYVALE, CA, Dec 17, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Wilocity, a leading developer of 60 GHz multi-gigabit wireless
chipsets, today announced that it has won awards from the Global
Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) and the International CES Innovations.
Not only has Wilocity won GSA's Private Company to Watch Award, but
its technology has been recognized as an Honoree in two categories
from the International CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering
Awards. Wilocity's technology was awarded in both the Embedded
Technologies category with the Dell WiGig-enabled multi-gigabit
wireless Notebook and Dock bundle and the Home Networking category
with the AzureWave Gigabit Wireless Tri-Band Router.
Wilocity is developing next-generation 60 GHz multi-gigabit wireless
chipsets for the mobile computing and peripheral markets, enabling
seamless, wireless peripheral connectivity and high performance
wireless networking. Wilocity has had an impactful year from
announcing a new partnership with Marvell and the first commercially
available WiGig-enabled product with Dell and now being recognized
with these prestigious industry awards from GSA and CES Innovations.
"Wilocity is powering the technology that has made WiGig 60 GHz
technology a commercially available reality instead of conjecture and
discussion," said Tal Tamir, CEO and Co-Founder, Wilocity. "Being
recognized by GSA and CES Innovations is further proof of our
continued momentum and leadership in delivering next-generation 60
GHz multi-gigabit wireless systems to the marketplace and helping to
shape 2013 as the year of WiGig."
GSA's Emerging Company CEO Council, venture capitalists and select
industry entrepreneurs chose the "Private Company to Watch Award"
winner by identifying a company that has demonstrated the potential
to positively change its market or the industry through the
innovative use of semiconductor technology or a new application for
semiconductor technology.
The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are
sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)(R). Products
entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel
of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the
media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge
consumer electronics products across 32 product categories.
Wilocity's winning technology will be featured in the Innovations
Design and Engineering Showcase at the 2013 International CES. Please
