Cisco News - Cisco Prime Collaboration Takes Over
By Robbie Pleasant, TMCnet Contributor
Instead, the Cisco Prime Collaboration will be replacing them, providing everything that the two did and more.
The Collaboration 9.5 release, coming this April, will also include the historic reporting features of the Unified Service Statistics Manager.
If you need to upgrade, UCMS customers will be able to get the major upgrades they need, or purchase the Prime Assured Subscription Service (PASS) to ensure they get upgraded to Cisco Prime Collaboration 9.0.
Prime Collaboration will also be needed to manage any future UC releases from Cisco, starting with UC 10.0.
Included in the new features of Cisco Prime Collaboration 9.0 are integrated alarms with a new correlation engine, a self-care provisioning module, VMs for Assurance and Provisioning for up to 10,000 endpoints, and more.
It is also improved with support for up to 150,000 endpoints, an easy-to-use graphical user interface, and software images delivered as Linux .OVA.
While those with the solutions being replaced might not be happy at first, the many improvements in Cisco Prime Collaboration 9.0 will make the UCMS, CM, and others a thing of the past. There’s no need to upgrade immediately, but it’ll provide quite the nice improvement when one does, and the older versions are on their way out.
It’s time for out with the old and in with the new, and Cisco Prime Collaboration 9.0 is a nice new way to go.
