By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor
Global Knowledge, an HP ExpertONE Learning Solutions Partner specializing in IT and business training, has announced the introduction of six Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Computing System (UCS) courses that suit Cisco UCS Manager 2.0.
These have been created to help students learn to integrate the latest Cisco data center technologies.
Providing over 1,500 courses covering foundational and specialized training and certification, Global knowledge provides core training on Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya (News - Alert), VMware, Red Hat, business process improvement, and leadership development.
“Ensuring our students’ skills are current and competitive is important to us,” said John Barnes, who helped develop the updated courseware. “We welcomed the opportunity to enable our students to use Cisco UCS Manager 2.0 to gain the relevant, up-to-date skills needed for an efficient, unified data center.”
Updated courses include Data Center Unified Computing Implementation, which will teach students how to install and provision a Cisco UCS system including hardware, hypervisors and applications.
The Data Center Unified Computing Design course will enable students learn how to choose and design scalable, reliable and intelligent data center unified computing and virtualization solutions.
Global knowledge instructors highlighted the fact that the DCUCTS course will guide students on Cisco Data Center Unified Computing System Troubleshooting v1.0 where students will learn to troubleshoot Level 2 UCS, N1K, and C-Series integration issues.
Students are also expected to gain expertise in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UCS C-Series servers operating in standalone mode from the Cisco Data Center Unified Computing System C-Series Troubleshooting v1.0 course.
Other courses include UCSTSBC – UCS Troubleshooting Boot Camp, which guides how to install, configure and troubleshoot UCS B-Series servers in conjunction with UCS C-Series servers and the Configuring Data Center Unified Computing course, where they will learn to install, configure and maintain UCS B-Series and C-Series servers – especially Cisco UCS B-Series Blade Servers.
“We cover many of the new UCS Manager 2.0 features in our courses, such as managing firmware bundle options, iSCSI boot, unified ports, and VM-FEX integration with VMware,” said Isaac Valdez of Cisco. “We also hit on some of the advancements to the unified fabric hardware.”
Over 60 HP training and certification courses covering a range of topics, including cloud computing, networking, servers and storage, were announced recently by Global Knowledge (News - Alert). In the new HP courses, students can begin their HP training on networking, ProLiant servers and blades, cloud computing, storage, and core system administration with foundation-level courses.
