Recently, the company announced that customers such as Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Capital Region Orthopaedics, and Human Kinetics are selecting Unified Fabric data center architectures that combine storage, compute, and networking resources, network services, and management to simplify IT operations and decrease expenses. Various customers selecting the Unified Fabric approach is witnessed in Cisco's installation metrics. Looking to take advantage of Cisco Unified Fabric capabilities, and to support business growth and gain competitive advantage, more than 36,000 customers have deployed NX-OS, Cisco's unified fabric and computing operating system. Also, about 6,000 customers have installed the Cisco Nexus 1000V switch, a softswitch that provides safe, multitenant services by adding virtualization intelligence to the data center network. “The demand for digital content has put unprecedented strain on our data center. Upgrading our data center with Cisco's Nexus, UCS, Catalyst, and Netflow Generation Appliance solutions gave us the storage scalability, manageability and performance needed to deliver digital content more quickly,” Brad Trankina, director of networks and information systems, Human Kinetics. “As a result, we have saved more than 40 percent in reduced hardware and management costs.” Recently, Falls Church, VA-based technology solutions provider CSC (News - Alert), partnered with Cisco to unveil its Unified Communications (News - Alert)- as- a- Service (UCaaS) products in the Canadian market.
