Cisco News - The Stamboulian Group Deploys Cisco Collaboration Solution
By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor
In order to improve the quality of medical care for HIV patients who live in remote cities such as Neuqun, Crdoba and Salta, the Stamboulian Group has deployed a Cisco (News - Alert) collaboration solution that allows healthcare specialists to consult with each other at any time.
This collaboration solution is now allowing the Stamboulian Group to interact between specialists, no matter where they work or live. It improves the quality of patient care and the efficiency of medical attention.
The solution is backed with Cisco WebEx web conferencing technology that helps specialists discuss solutions for infectious disease pathologies as well as other treatments and facilitates researchers' collaboration and medical training. Specialist can also involve in case discussions and "grand rounds" among HIV specialists.
Dr. Daniel Stamboulian, general director of Stamboulian Group said, "We strongly believe in telemedicine and are innovating in this field as part of our long term strategy. Health is one of the great concerns, and this service will shorten waiting times, facilitate opportune diagnosis, and keep illnesses from getting worse."
In addition to these services, WebEx technology is allowing one Stamboulian clinic and two Helios Salud clinics to conduct specialized consultations among professionals working remotely. This proves that geographic distance is no longer an obstacle to providing high-quality medical care.
Alejandro Cambours , general manager of Helios Salud, said, "We needed a powerful communication tool with excellent-quality video and audio that could share visual references from a variety of media. It was also important that we be able to connect people from multiple locations, and that the tool be easy to learn and use. Cisco WebEx technology met all of these requirements."
Cisco collaboration solution is also helping Grupo Stamboulian clinics to collaborate with the University of Miami using a new medical protocol for training.
