SAP (News - Alert) officials have confirmed that they will offer their customers the SAP IT Process Automation application by Cisco, allowing them to experience increased efficiency, visibility and control of IT operational processes in complex IT environments.

This latest solution even extends and complements SAP solutions, while enhancing the value of IT investments and reducing maintenance costs.

Stephen Spears, senior vice president of Application Lifecycle Management Software at SAP, said their company is constantly enhancing its support of customers, helping them optimize their operations of heterogeneous SAP solutions.

"With SAP IT Process Automation, which is an extension of SAP Solution Manager, customers can better leverage IT operations standards and Run SAP methodology through the definition of automated resolution workflows,” he said. “This agreement between SAP and Cisco (News - Alert) will further heighten the value and increase the adoption of SAP Solution Manager as the central platform for managing SAP solutions within SAP Enterprise Support services,"

SAP IT Process Automation blends well with other SAP solutions, including the SAP ERP application, SAP Solution Manager, the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse application and the SAP HANA platform.

With all these conditioned services, users can avail predefined content based on best practices that can automate the incident-response lifecycle within operations. This helps improve quality of service and service availability that maps directly to the business. It also helps automate incident-response activities and orchestrates far-reaching operations, including incidence-avoidance checks and maintenance activities essential in complex heterogeneous landscapes and cloud-based architectures.
