Cisco News - Enventis Deploys Cisco UCS for Young America Corp

Enventis, a Cisco (News - Alert) Gold Certified and Master Unified Communications Partner, announced the installation of a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) at Young American Corporation. The new UCS will help employees at Young America boost productivity and allow for increased customer satisfaction.
Young America Corp., based out of Minnesota, is an incentive marketing company with about 300 employees. Its computer system before the Cisco UCS was deployed was underpowered and limited computer utilization by both the employees of the company and customers. The new UCS is smaller, faster, scalable and more cost-effective.
Ted Bienapfl, director of infrastructure, network services and development at Young America, stated, “The UCS solution reduced our data center footprint to a fraction of what it was and created power and cooling efficiencies. With this infrastructure upgrade, we basically opened up the floodgates to any and all business submissions. Our customers are noticing the fact that they're getting their web pages quicker and that they can throw more jobs at us. Most importantly, they are noticing better performance and service across the board.”
Enventis (News - Alert) services the Midwest region and currently runs a five-state fiber optic network. Young America felt Enventis was the ideal choice for implementing a new UCS. Bienapfl said in a press release, “We chose Enventis because of their reputation locally and their high-level expertise implementing Cisco based solutions.”
The new UCS integrates well with VMware and is highly scalable. Young America plans to eventually deploy a new phone system and call center utilizing Cisco UC and Unified Contact Center (UCCX) solutions. Enventis designed the UCS around Young America’s needs today and for the future. It decided on a Cisco UCS data center architecture utilizing Cisco Nexus 7000 switches along with Cisco’s Multilayer Fabric Switches.
